PGCC Shooting – Prince George’s Community College Shooting – 16-Year-Old Charged With Attempted Murder

A 16-year-old from Upper Marlboro was arrested Friday evening and charged as an adult after police said he shot a 15-year-old at Prince George’s Community College’s Largo campus on Thursday.

According to Prince George’s County police, the two teenagers had been involved in an argument before the shooting.

The 15-year-old later arrived at a medical center at approximately 11:40 a.m. with a gunshot wound. Police said his injuries were minor and that he was expected to recover.

Investigators determined that the shooting had occurred at the community college, prompting officers to respond to the Largo campus around noon.

College Placed on Lockdown

Following the shooting, Prince George’s Community College was placed under lockdown and a shelter-in-place order was issued while police investigated the incident.

Nearby Largo High School was also placed on a precautionary lockdown through dismissal.

Prince George’s County Public Schools confirmed that the injured teenager is a student within the school district.

Teen Charged as Adult

Police arrested the 16-year-old suspect Friday evening. He has been charged as an adult with attempted murder.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue working to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
